Why open innovation matters here: a spooky story is only as good as the people in it. Open models let a small investigator, a local historian, or a family remembering someone keep the whole tool in their own hands — no account, no server storing their case log, no company deciding which past gets remembered. The past belongs to everyone, so the tool for honoring it should too.
